Trade Partner Program · Hamptons
HTE works alongside architects, interior designers, and custom home builders across the Hamptons — from design development through final punch list — so lighting control, shading, and AV become part of the architecture, not an afterthought managed under pressure.
We specify Lutron, Ketra, Savant, Control4, or Crestron based on what the home needs — not what we'd prefer to sell. No politics around the platform table, no spec fights.
We join at design development — before framing — to confirm conduit pathways, shade pockets, equipment room sizing, and ceiling prep, so surprises don't become change orders.
From Lutron's Aviena hand-finished brass keypads to architecturally flush shade pockets, we treat every control surface and visible detail as part of your interior language.
Our ExpertCare program assigns your client a dedicated service manager and 24/7 monitoring — so the systems we build together keep performing long after the punch list is signed.
According to Lutron's 2026 Living with Light report, 47% of designers say poor lighting can devalue even the most high-end architecture. The right integration partner ensures that never happens on your project.
For clients who want lighting that responds to the rhythms of the day — morning warmth, afternoon clarity, evening atmosphere — Lutron HomeWorks with Ketra intelligent fixtures delivers fully tunable, human-centric control. Ketra's circadian programming is no longer a specialty request; it's becoming a standard expectation in Hamptons estate design. Control hardware like the Aviena keypad, crafted in hand-finished solid brass with engraved iconography, meets the material vocabulary of high-end interiors without compromise.
Hamptons properties are defined by their outdoor rooms — pool terraces, covered loggias, beach paths, landscape approaches. Lutron's Native by Design collaboration with Coastal Source brings Ketra intelligent lighting into durable exterior architectural fixtures, delivering the same tunable control outdoors that your clients experience inside. The result is a property that reads as a single, considered environment from the front gate to the water.
Whether your project is a ground-up estate or a complex renovation into an existing Hamptons home, HTE's involvement is calibrated to the phase you're in.
We join your project at design development — before framing, before the electrical rough-in, before the millwork shop drawings are finalized. We issue conduit and blocking drawings, size the equipment room, confirm shade pocket depths, and attend site meetings as a named trade. The Hamptons build calendar is tight; early coordination is what keeps it tight without compromise.
Start a ConversationNot every project is ground-up. If your client is renovating an existing Hamptons home — or inheriting a system a previous integrator left behind — we assess what's there, document it honestly, and design a path forward. New Lutron Ketra D2 Remodeler Downlights now make intelligent, tunable lighting achievable even in finished ceilings, opening options that didn't exist before.
Discuss Your ProjectWhen in the design process should I bring in an AV integrator?
Ideally at design development — before framing begins. In Hamptons new construction, the pre-framing window is when conduit pathways, equipment room sizing, motorized shade pockets, and ceiling prep need to be confirmed. Bringing HTE in at this stage prevents costly late-stage revisions and ensures technology is woven into the architecture, not retrofitted against it.
Will you fight with me over which lighting platform to use?
No. We're platform-agnostic — Lutron HomeWorks, Ketra, Savant, Control4, Crestron — and our recommendation is always based on the home's needs, the client's lifestyle, and the design intent. We don't carry inventory quotas or push a preferred spec. When education comes first, trust tends to follow, and the right system tends to be obvious.
How do you coordinate with the electrical contractor, millwork team, and other trades on site?
We work with your GC to be a named trade on the schedule from day one. We provide written RFI responses within 24 hours on business days, attend site meetings, issue conduit and blocking drawings ahead of framing, and flag conflicts before they become change orders. Our team has completed hundreds of Hamptons projects and understands how the local build calendar — and the Memorial Day pressure — actually operates.
What do I need to plan for architecturally that I probably don't know to ask about?
The most common surprises: equipment room sizing and ventilation (a Lutron HomeWorks system plus AV rack needs both space and cooling), motorized shade pocket depth (typically 4–6 inches recessed into the ceiling), structural blocking for flush-mount displays and projector mounts, conduit from the electrical panel to each zone, and outdoor infrastructure for landscape lighting and audio — critical on any Hamptons property with pool terraces or exterior living spaces.
Do you offer CEU credits or Lunch & Learn sessions for our firm?
Yes. HTE hosts complimentary Lunch & Learn sessions at architecture and design firms, tailored to your project types. Topics include lighting control principles, motorized shading integration, circadian and human-centric lighting, and platform selection — all framed around supporting your design intent, not selling equipment. We can discuss CEU accreditation for qualifying sessions with your firm's continuing education coordinator.
Can you take over a system a previous integrator installed poorly?
Yes — system takeovers are a meaningful part of our practice across the Hamptons. We assess what exists, document it fully, and either remediate or replace as the situation warrants. Our ExpertCare program then provides ongoing 24/7 monitoring and a dedicated service manager, so the systems we rebuild together perform reliably for the long term — and your client stops calling you about their technology.
Whether you're in design development on a ground-up estate or navigating a complex Hamptons renovation, HTE is the technology partner that shows up early, stays out of the way aesthetically, and keeps performing long after the project closes.
